Happy Houndstooth

Remember when I told the heartbreaking story (ha ha) of my years- long obsession with the Express houndstooth winter coat?

Express can keep their coat for two hundred dollars. I just bought one for 49.99!

 

Kohl’s had a Columbus Day Sale for three days. My father had given me a gift certificate for my birthday and I hadn’t used it yet. The sale included baby clothes for 3-5 dollars and Avery had no winter clothes, so I decided to spend my birthday money on a snappy new fall/winter wardrobe for Bookie Lou.

 

Walking up to the register, I spotted a gorgeous cream-and-black houndstooth jacket by Candies. I swear it, if it didn’t say Candies on it, I would think it was the Express coat I’ve been lusting after for years.

It was 78.00, on SALE for Columbus Day at 49.99.

Being the sometimes neurotic, newly frugal, always indecisive person I am, I still stood there with my hand on the size Medium for about five good minutes, thoughts racing in my head…should I buy it? It’s still a lot of money, etc etc.

 

Finally I said screw it. If I don’t get this jacket after all these years of pining for a jacket I couldn’t afford, and now finding the exact same one that I can, I don’t deserve it anyway. I snatched it up and now it’s finally mine!

 

I can’t wait for the first cold day to debut my awesome coat. Happy Houndstooth Day!
